The Importance of Women Empowerment in Our Society

Women are the pillars of a society. A society cannot exist without the values and notions that are instilled by the women to make a cultured society. Men have always dominated the society and in every aspect. The need for women empowerment arose due hamper the growing gender discrimination in the society. It was believed that women should equally be given importance. Though the government always stresses on Empowering Women and ensuring gender equality, the practice of it is only applied in few places. There are many social evils that are lurking in and hamper the educational development among them.

Empowering Women

There are several measures that have been undertaken to ensure the women’s empowerment:
  •         Providing adult education: A basic education is the right of every person and is the requirement so that they could read and understand what all is written. Many NGO has taken up the task of ensuring the education of rural or uneducated women.
  •         Train and provide jobs: Every human being is skilled and can contribute to the productivity of any small or medium-sized industry at this level. Women can earn their income and livelihood with these day-to-day jobs and attain financial stability.

  •         Be independent: Having independence and believing that are two different aspects. Women need to be taught about what independence means in their life. They should have the self-confidence to handle any situation and the attitude to stand toe-to-toe with a man.
  •        Create networks: A social support is very important in a society and women can muster the social groups to garner support and creating opportunities. These networks can help a woman in gaining knowledge from others.
  •         Schemes and programmes: Several government schemes and programs have been introduced to inculcate education among girls and make them aware about their health, nutrition, and surroundings.
